Martial law imposed in breakaway Karabakh republic
YEREVAN. March 26 (Interfax) - The breakaway Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has imposed martial law.
"On March 26 President of the Republic of Artsakh [the Armenian name for NKR] Arayik Harutyunyan signed a decree on temporary restriction of rights and freedoms during martial law declared across Artsakh," the president's press service said.
The restriction will affect the right to freedom of assembly, strikes and other events and organizations engaged in propaganda or any other activity aimed against defensive capability and security will suspend their operations.
"Enforcing the temporary restrictions on rights and freedoms, established by this decree, will be the responsibility of the Artsakh interior ministry and national security service," the statement said.
