Number of cyberattacks on Russian businesses quadruple in Q1 2022 vs Q1 2021 - Kaspersky Lab

MOSCOW. March 26 (Interfax) - The Kaspersky Lab cybersecurity company has recorded a dramatic increase in the number of incidents involving cyberattacks on Russian businesses.

"The company's experts investigated four times as many such incidents in the first quarter of 2022 as in the same period in 2021. This growth should be attributed primarily to the constant sophistication of the threat landscape and the expansion of the attack surface," it said.

Hackers use various tactics and techniques, including combined ones, and seek to infiltrate a victim company's infrastructure through various points, it said.

"In addition, companies are facing the suspension of operations of a number of foreign vendors on the market. In a situation of uncertainty, in particular, as the organizations have been deprived of certain protective solutions, the risks of being exposed to a complicated cyberattack significantly grow," Kaspersky Lab said.
