Moldovan Foreign Ministry: All measures taken to ensure security of Russian Embassy in Chisinau

CHISINAU. March 26 (Interfax) - The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said that "the authority have taken all measures to ensure the security of the Russian diplomatic mission in Chisinau," ministry spokesperson Daniel Voda wrote on social media on Friday evening.

He confirmed that Moldovan Ambassador to Russia Lilian Darii was summoned to Russian Foreign Ministry on Monday, and the ministry "strongly protested against a protest against the events in Ukraine outside the Russian Embassy in Chisinau." The Russian Foreign Ministry also appealed to the Moldovan side "with an urgent demand for the fulfillment of international obligations and relevant measures to prevent such protests from repeating."

"The authorities took all measures envisaged by the Vienna Convention in relation to the security of the Russian diplomatic mission in Chisinau. At the same time, we would like to emphasize that the legislation of Moldova guarantees the fundamental human rights and freedoms. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration urges the population to remain calm," Voda said.
