Former Channel One editor Ovsyannikova may be fined 50,000 rubles under discrediting Russian Armed Forces article

MOSCOW. March 25 (Interfax) - Moscow's Ostankinsky District Court has registered an administrative violation report on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces against former Channel One editor Marina Ovsyannikova, who gained prominence after appearing on a live program with a pacifist poster.

The administrative violation case against Ovsyannikova reached the court on Friday, the court told Interfax. She is charged with "public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Russian Armed Forces to defend the interests of Russia and its citizens, to maintain international peace and security." She faces a fine of up to 50,000 rubles.

Ovsyannikova was earlier fined 30,000 rubles for violating the legislation on public events.
