Apple ends Apple Pay support for Mir cards

MOSCOW. March 25 (Interfax) - Apple has informed the National Payment Card System (NPCS) that it is ending support for the Russian payment system's Mir cards in the Apple Pay service, NPCS reported.

"Loading of new Mir cards into the service became unavailable as of March 24. Apple will suspend the operation of previously loaded cards in the next few days," NPCS said in a statement.

The U.S. company said at the beginning of March that it would restrict Apple Pay and other services in Russia.
