Japan adds 25 persons, 81 legal entities to its Russia sanction list

HONG KONG. March 25 (Interfax) - The Japanese Foreign Ministry has published an extension to its list of sanctions against a number of Russian individuals and legal entities.

A total of 25 individuals have been added to Japan's new sanction list, including VEB.RF Chairman Igor Shuvalov and his relatives, Severstal principal owner Alexei Mordashov, relatives of Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin, the wife and children of Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, Rostec Chairman Sergei Chemezov, and others.

The Japanese sanctions also apply to 81 Russian companies and businesses, including shipbuilding and automobile plants and electronics manufacturers.

In addition, the Japanese government has prohibited exports of luxury goods to Russia.
