Ukraine's Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Leshchenko files resignation - media

KYIV. March 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine's Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Roman Leshchenko has filed his resignation. The Verkhovna Rada intends to consider the issue of his resignation on Thursday.

Some Ukrainian media, including Ekonomichna Pravda (EP) and Agropolit, reported this on Wednesday evening.

According to EP, Minister Leshchenko has confirmed to the media outlet his intention to resign.

The parliament may make his First Deputy Taras Vysotsky minister, the report said.

The motives for the resignation are not reported.

The Verkhovna Rada appointed State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre (StateGeoCadastre) head Roman Leshchenko Agrarian Policy and Food Minister in December 2020. He headed up StateGeoCadastre in June 2020 and had been Ukrainian presidential envoy on land issues since October 1, 2019.
