Poland sees no possibilities to pay for Russian gas in rubles
WARSAW. March 24 (Interfax) - Poland sees no possibilities to pay for Russian gas in rubles, Pawel Majewski, CEO of President of the PGNiG SA, said on Thursday.
"There is no such possibility. The contract states the method for gas payment. We'll be fulfilling the contract in keeping with its provisions," Polish media quoted him as saying.
The importers of Russian natural gas branded as unfriendly countries will be asked to pay in Russian rubles, President Vladimir Putin told the government on Wednesday, giving it and the Central Bank one week to determine a procedure for gas importers buying rubles on the Russian internal market.
