UK adds 33 persons, 26 organizations to Russia sanctions lists
LONDON. March 24 (Interfax) - The United Kingdom on Thursday imposed sanctions on another 33 people and 26 legal entities from Russia, including Sberbank head Herman Gref, as well as Gazprombank and Alfa-Bank, according to a document released by the UK Treasury.
Other persons sanctioned by the UK include businessman Oleg Tinkov, first deputy chairman of Sberbank's board Alexander Vedyakhin, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Dmitry Bulgakov, Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shugayev, Rosoboronexport General Director Alexander Mikheyev, Roman Abramovich's business partner Yevgeny Shvidler and former first deputy chairman of Sberbank's executive board Lev Khasis.
The organizations targeted by the sanctions include the Wagner Group private military company, Russian Railways, RusHydro, Alrosa, Russian Agricultural Bank (Rosselkhozbank), and Sovcomflot.
Opposition MP of Ukraine's ninth Verkhovna Rada Oleh Voloshyn has been blacklisted as well. Restrictions measures have also been imposed on former Verkhovna Rada member Volodymyr Sivkovych.
The assets of these persons and legal entities will be frozen under the sanctions and travel bans will be imposed, according to the UK Treasury document.
The restrictive measures also apply to Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy to the Far East Federal District Yury Trutnev and Russian Presidential Envoy to the Siberian Federal District Anatoly Seryshev.
Among the sanctioned companies are JSC Makeyev State Rocket Center, the EXIAR export insurance company and SMP Bank.
