Over 500 civilians evacuated from Mariupol in past day - DPR

DONETSK. March 24 (Interfax) - More than 500 civilians, among them 130 children, were evacuated from Mariupol over the past day, the territorial defense headquarters of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) said.

"Over the past day, from 8:00 a.m. on March 23 to 8:00 a.m. on March 24, 504 people, including 130 children, were evacuated from Mariupol to Bezymenne in the Novoazovsk district," the DPR territorial defense headquarters said in a statement on Thursday.

In all, 5,125 civilians were evacuated from Mariupol, which has been encircled, to the DPR from March 5 to March 24.
