U.S. Embassy given list of diplomats to be expelled in response to Russian UN staff's expulsion - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. March 23 (Interfax) - The United States Embassy to Russia has been sent a list of U.S. diplomats to be expelled in response to the expulsion of the diplomats from the Russian permanent mission to the UN, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

"On March 23, a senior diplomat summoned from the U.S. diplomatic mission in Moscow was handed a note with a list of American diplomats declared personae non gratae, who are being expelled in response to the expulsion by Washington of the diplomats from the Russian Permanent Mission to the UN in New York and also a Russian employee of the UN Secretariat," the ministry's website said.

"The American side was given a tough warning that any hostile U.S. action against Russia will be met with a decisive and appropriate response," it said.
