S7 to take several Il-96, Il-86 cargo airplanes - Russian transportation minister

MOSCOW. March 22 (Interfax) - S7 Airlines will take several Il-96 and Il-86 cargo airplanes, Russian Transportation Minister Vitaly Savelyev said during a Federation Council committee meeting on economic policy.

"Now S7, under my patronage - I have come to an agreement with [Industry and Trade Minister Denis] Manturov - will take five aircraft, two Il-96 cargo planes and three Il-86 cargo planes. It will adapt them, and we will fly," Savelyev said during the meeting.

Interfax has asked S7 to comment.

The S7 aviation group is a privately owned aviation holding, which operates passenger flights under the S7 Airlines brand. It was founded by Vladislav and Natalya Filev.
