Number of people wishing to leave Ukraine declines - State Border Service

KYIV. March 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The number of people wishing to leave Ukraine has declined over the past few days to 70,000 per day, whereas up to 150,000 people previously passed through crossings on Ukraine's western border with the European Union, spokesman for Ukraine's State Border Service Andriy Demchenko said at a press briefing at the Ukraine Media Center in Lviv.

The situation at border crossings has almost normalized now, Demchenko said. Up to 50,000 people on average crossed Ukraine's border with the EU every day before February 24, he said.

According to Ukraine's State Customs Services, there were small queues outside the Krakovets border crossing on the border with Poland, two buses and 70 pedestrians, and outside the Shenyni border crossing, 15 vehicles and 50 pedestrians, as of 3:00 p.m. local time on Monday.

Queues of vehicles are either absent or insignificant along Ukraine's entire border with neighboring states, the State Customs Service said on Telegram.
