Covid-19 incidence rate in Russia down by 35% over past week - coronavirus response HQ

MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - The incidence rate of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population in Russia declined by 35% last week compared to the previous week, and the incidence of related hospitalizations declined in the same period by 9.6%, the coronavirus operative response headquarters said on Monday.

"The incidence rate of the novel coronavirus infection cases per 100,000 population amounted to 160.25 last week, down by 35% from the previous week. The incidence rate increased in four federal entities of Russia, including in three of them higher than the national average," it said.

The incidence of hospitalizations per 100,000 population last week was 22.5, down by 9.6% compared to the previous week. The number of hospitalizations per 100,000 people grew in 23 federal entities, including in 20 of them higher than the national average, it said.

The coronavirus operative response headquarters reported on Monday that Russia recorded 28,709 new cases of coronavirus over the previous 24 hours. The daily cases have been declining nationwide for 19 straight days.
