Ukraine set target of cropping at least 70% of last year's harvest

KYIV. March 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine has set the target of harvesting 70% of last year's volumes despite all the challenges, Deputy Head of the Ukrainian President's Office Rostyslav Shurma said.

"Our goal is to secure the next year's harvest at least on the level of 70% of this year despite the situation," Shurma said on television on Saturday.

In order to achieve this goal, Ukraine has launched a comprehensive sowing campaign support program, including soft loans for agrarians. The stockpiles of wheat, sunflower oil, corn and other basic foods in storage facilities are sufficient for 3-5 years, he said.

"We'll surely have enough to feed ourselves," Shurma said.
