Number of people leaving Ukraine for EU countries, Moldova on decline - State Border Service

KYIV. March 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Over 50,000 people crossed the Ukrainian state border into the European Union countries and Moldova on March 18, which is about 9% less than the day before, the State Border Service said in a statement on Saturday.

"Passenger traffic tends to decrease over the past three days [...]. Now there are no queues of pedestrians and vehicles in almost all directions," the statement said.

Poland accommodated 64% of those who left Ukraine, it said.

The State Border Service noted that all checkpoints on the western border (except Dzwinkowe) are open round the clock.

Over 900 vehicles with humanitarian aid were cleared at the western border in the past 24 hours, while only 800 such vehicles were allowed to cross the border in previous days, it also said.
