Over 13,000 Donbas residents arrive in Russia's Rostov region in past day - FSB border dept

ROSTOV-ON-DON. March 18 (Interfax) - A new group of refugees from the Donetsk (DPR) and Luhansk (LPR) People's Republics has arrived in the Rostov region, the press service for the Russian Federal Security Service's (FSB) border department for the region said on Friday.

"More than 13,000 people crossed into Russia through crossing points located in the Rostov region over the past day," the press service said.

Over 11,000 people had arrived from Donbas in the Rostov region the day before.

The DPR and LPR authorities have been evacuating women, children and the elderly to Russia since February 18. The refugees are first arriving in the Rostov region, from where they are being transported to other Russian regions.
