Nazarbayev's nephew, his ex-wife suspected of business raiding takeover

NUR-SULTAN. March 18 (Interfax) - The Kazakh Anti-Corruption Agency has begun an investigation against Nursultan Nazarbayev's nephew Kairat Satybaldyuly and his ex-wife, the press service said.

"The Anti-Corruption Agency has begun a pretrial investigation against Kairat Satybaldyuly, his ex-wife Gulmira Satybaldy and other persons over a business raiding takeover," the report said.

Gulmira Satybaldy was detained and put in a temporary detention facility in Nur-Sultan on March 16.

Other information is not subject to disclosure in the interests of the investigation, the Anti-Corruption Agency said.

Satybaldyuly is the nephew of Kazakhstan's first President Nursultan Nazarbayev. He is on the list of the country's most influential businessmen according to Forbes Kazakhstan.
