Russia, UN discuss provision of emergency humanitarian aid in Ukraine
MOSCOW. March 17 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin had a telephone call with United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths on Thursday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"Vershinin and Griffiths extensively considered the current events in Ukraine, placing an emphasis on coordinating the provision of emergency humanitarian aid to those in need. The parties also highlighted the importance of continuing the Russian Foreign Ministry's and Defense Ministry's interaction with representatives of the UN OCHA [Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs]," it said.
