Ukraine sets up national information bureau consistent with Geneva Convention on Prisoners of War - Deputy PM Vereshchuk

KYIV. March 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine has set up a national information bureau consistent with the Geneva Convention on Prisoners of War, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk said.

"Starting today, we have established the national information bureau consistent with the Geneva Convention on Prisoners of War dated August 12, 1949," Vereshchuk said.

"It has been decided that the state-run enterprise, the Ukrainian National Center for Peacebuilding, which operates under the Ministry for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, will be a legal entity of public law and will serve as the national information bureau," she said.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has informed the International Committee of the Red Cross about the bureau, Vereshchuk said.

"Hopefully, our work will be fruitful and, most importantly, efficient," she said.
