Sullivan tells Patrushev U.S. intends to impose further sanctions on Russia - White House

WASHINGTON. March 17 (Interfax) - U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev over the phone on Wednesday that Washington will continue introducing sanctions against Moscow and called on Russia to stop its operation in Ukraine.

"Mr. Sullivan clearly laid out the United States' commitment to continue imposing costs on Russia, to support the defense of Ukraine;s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to reinforce NATO's eastern flank, in continued full coordination with our Allies and partners," the U.S. National Security Council said in a statement.

If Russia is serious about diplomacy, then it should stop its operation in Ukraine, Sullivan said.
