Russia's sanctions on U.S. politicians, including Biden, doesn't mean refusal to maintain contacts - Peskov

MOSCOW. March 16 (Interfax) - The personal sanctions that Russia has imposed on a number of United States politicians, including President Joe Biden, do not mean a refusal to maintain contacts, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"If necessary, these contacts could be resumed. The imposition of these sanctions doesn't mean a refusal to maintain contacts," Peskov told journalists.

These sanctions had been previously agreed upon with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he said.

"Certainly, this has been agreed upon with the head of state," he said.

Putin and Biden have not talked lately, he said.

"They haven't communicated," Peskov said.
