ICRC yet to respond to Ukraine's proposals on humanitarian corridors - Deputy PM Vereshchuk

KYIV. March 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is yet to respond to Kyiv's proposal regarding the opening of humanitarian corridors on Wednesday that was passed to the ICRC on Tuesday, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk said.

"We have not received a reply to our proposals that were passed to the International Committee of the Red Cross yesterday regarding the opening of humanitarian corridors today. The issue of organizing humanitarian corridors for Izyum and Mariupol today remains unresolved. In such conditions, we cannot evacuate people safely," Vereshchuk said in a video address on Wednesday.

Work is continuing on routes for delivering humanitarian aid to populated localities in the Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kherson regions, she said.
