Verkhovna Rada extends martial law in Ukraine until Apr 25

KYIV. March 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The Verkhovna Rada has extended martial law in Ukraine until April 25, 2022, deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak said.

"Today the parliament met again in the Verkhovna Rada building [...], adopted a number of important [...] decisions," Zhelezniak said on Telegram on Tuesday.

The extension of martial law in the country is stipulated in the bill, for which 343 deputies voted, he said.

"The term of martial law in Ukraine is extended from 5:30 a.m. on March 26, 2022 for a period of 30 days," the bill said.

Martial law in Ukraine was declared on February 24.
