Putin, European Council President Michel discuss Ukraine

MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and European Council President Charles Michel have had a telephone call, the Kremlin's press service said.

"The parties continued discussing the situation related to the Russian special military operation to protect the Donbas republics and humanitarian aspects, including measures for the evacuation of civilians," the press service said.

"The Russian president emphasized that the leadership of the European Union, while publicly assessing the events, has ignored yesterday's criminal and inhumane act of Ukrainian troops, a missile strike on a residential block in central Donetsk using a cluster bomb that caused numerous casualties among civilians," the press service said.

"Putin shared his principled evaluations of the ongoing talks of the Russian and Ukrainian representatives for reaching agreements in light of Russia's known demands," it said.

"It was noted that Kyiv is not showing serious commitment to finding mutually acceptable solutions," it said.
