U.S. sanctions against Russia should be taken into account at JCPOA talks - Peskov

MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - The U.S. sanctions against Russia should be taken into account at the talks on a future of the Iran nuclear deal, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The sanctions against Russia directly concern our national interests in the context of continuation of this deal," Peskov said in response to a question whether the U.S. sanctions against Russia and the talks on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) would be viewed separately from one another.

"The sanctions must be taken into consideration, and must be duly noted. This is a new aspect that cannot be left out and has to be taken into account," he said.

Moscow's stance on this "is well known to the United States," he said.

Journalists asked Peskov what exactly Russia wants the U.S. to do in this respect.

"You know that this matter is not public. We state the existence of the problem but, obviously, we cannot be public about everything that concerns the JCPOA. This is a topic for further conversation. Indeed, this is very important to us," he said.
