Ukrzaliznytsia has evacuated over 2 mln people - deputy chief of Zelensky's office

KYIV. March 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The Ukrainian national railway company Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways, UZ) has evacuated more than 2 million people since February 24, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy chief of the Ukrainian presidential office, said during a live news marathon on Tuesday.

"This is a large figure indeed, and many thanks to Ukrzaliznytsia, which is taking people to safe places," Tymoshenko said.

About 150,000 other people have been evacuated by bus via humanitarian corridors from cities where particularly heavy fighting is currently taking place, Tymoshenko said.

"This concerns the Luhansk, Donetsk, Sumy, Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhya regions. Twenty-six humanitarian corridors have been employed over this time," he said.
