Finnish railways stops accepting freight of leasing cos, other shippers from Russia

MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - VR Group, Finland's national railway company, is no longer accepting freight from Russian leasing companies and other freight shippers.

Receiving of freight loaded in railcars owned by VTB Leasing, VEB Leasing and state development corporation VEB.RF will be temporarily suspended "for reasons beyond VR Group's control," the Finnish company said in a letter to Russian Railways (RZD) deputy CEO Alexei Shilo, an industry source told Interfax. Interfax has obtained a copy of the letter.

VR Group is also temporarily suspending receiving of freight from UralChel, Uralkali , EuroChem, Severstal , Togliattiazot , Tomet and vehicles owned by these companies.
