Appliance factories of Germany's BSH operating as usual in Russia - source

ST. PETERSBURG. March 14 (Interfax) - The Russian factories of Germany's BSH Hausgerate GmbH, which manufactures household appliances under the Bosch and Siemens brand names, are operating as usual, a source in BSH's Russian subsidiary, BSH Household Appliances LLC, has told Interfax.

"The factories are operating normally, in two shifts. We have no information about a suspension of operations," the source said.

There had been information published in social networks about the alleged termination of deliveries of Bosch household appliances and components from the European Union to Russia, as well as the beginning of the process of halting production at BSH's two Russian factories.

The BSH subsidiary manufactures refrigerators and washing machines in Russia. Total capacity of the two factories in the village of Strelna near St. Petersburg exceeds 1 million household appliances per year. BSH Home Appliances also promotes, sells and provides services on the Russian home appliances market for four brand names belonging to the BSH group, including Bosch and Siemens, as well as Gaggenau and Neff specialized brands of built-in appliances.
