Belarusian, Turkish FMs discuss Ukraine over phone

MINSK. March 14 (Interfax) - Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei discussed the situation in Ukraine with Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu by phone on Monday, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry press service said.

"The conversation addressed the situation in the region in a broad context and specifically around Ukraine. They expressed a common opinion that the conflict in its hot phase needs to end as soon as possible. They addressed issues relating to evacuation of citizens from the conflict zone and the functioning of humanitarian corridors," the ministry said.

The ministers also discussed bilateral relations with an emphasis on vital issues relating to trade-economic cooperation between Belarus and Turkey, the agency said.
