Russian Central Bank governor will not hold press conference for first time in two years after planned board meeting on key rate, will deliver only statement

MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax) - Central Bank of Russia (CBR) Governor Elvira Nabiullina will deliver only a statement on monetary policy on Friday, March 18, following the planned meeting of the regulator's board of directors, the CBR said.

Nabiullina will not be holding the traditional press conference at the conclusion of the board meeting according to the calendar for decisions on the key rate, and she will only be delivering the statement at 3:00 p.m., as scheduled. Meantime, Nabiullina is scheduled to hold briefings following the remaining meetings of the board of directors on the key rate on April 29, June 10, July 22, September 16, October 28, and December 16 this year.

Nabiullina also only delivered a statement following the previous extraordinary meeting of the CBR's board on February 28, 2022, when the regulator decided to hike the key rate sharply from 9.5% per annum to 20% pa.
