Inter RAO chief, VK VP, VTB executives placed on SDN sanctions list

MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax) - The presence of Russian business on the U.S. blocking sanctions list has once again significantly expanded.

Friday's SDN List update included several relatives of Yuri Kovalchuk, including Boris Kovalchuk, head of Inter RAO , and Stepan Kovalchuk, senior vice president of media strategy and service development at VK .

In addition, according to a statement from OFAC, the U.S. Treasury Department branch responsible for enforcing sanctions, the SDN List includes the top managers of VTB (the state bank itself was put under blocking sanctions in February, and its head Andrey Kostin - almost four years ago). These are Vadim Kulik, Olga Dergunova, Valery Lukyanenko, Erkin Norov, Anatoly Pechatnikov, Svyatoslav Ostrovsky, Dmitry Pyanov, Natalia Dirks, Maxim Kondratenko, and Yuri Andresov, formerly of HCF-Bank, who had been appointed to the VTB board just two months prior.

Elena Georgieva, Andrei Sapelin, German Belous and Dmitry Vavulin have all been subject to sanctions due to their affiliation with Novikombank, another lender on the "black list."
