Not all of 14 humanitarian passages due to open on Sunday worked - Deputy PM Vereshchuk
KYIV. March 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Only nine out of 14 humanitarian passages that were supposed to open on Sunday worked, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of Temporary Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk said at a press briefing on Sunday.
"The humanitarian cargo [for Mariupol] was blocked in Berdyansk, half way to the city. We will give it another try on Monday morning," Vereshchuk said.
No evacuation from Popasna, Shchastya and Hirne happened. Meanwhile, 3,950 people managed to evacuate from the Kyiv region, and another 1,600 people were saved in the Luhansk region, she said.
"In all, we managed to evacuate over 5,500 people," Vereshchuk said.
