Over 231,000 Ukrainians evacuated to Russia since start of special operation - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. March 12 (Interfax) - More than 231,000 Ukrainian citizens have been evacuated to Russia without Kyiv's participation since the start of the military operation in Ukraine, the Russian military said.

"As many as 9,787 people, including 1,738 children, were evacuated from dangerous zones in different districts of Ukraine, as well as from the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics over the past day without the Ukrainian side's participation," head of Russia's National Defense Control Center Mikhail Mizintsev said.

"In all, more than 231,000 people, including 51,996 children, have already been evacuated [to Russia] since the start of the special military operation. As many as 24,168 personal vehicles have crossed the state border of the Russian Federation, including 915 in the past day," Mizintsev said.
