Russian govt halts Instagram news update
MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - The Russian government will no longer be updating its newswire on Instagram, its press service said.
"Following demands from Russia's Prosecutor General's Office, access to the social-media site Instagram (owned by Meta Platforms, Inc.) in the Russian Federation will be restricted. In view of this, we are discontinuing updates to our newswire in Instagram," a statement obtained by Interfax said.
"To keep abreast of the government's biggest news stories, sign up to our official Telegram channel and Vk page, and read our official site," the statement said.
"Active links to [these resources] are in Stories, the press service said.
