Navalny's press secretary Yarmysh declared wanted

MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - The Russian Interior Ministry has placed opposition activist Alexei Navalny's associate Kira Yarmysh on the wanted list.

Yarmysh has been declared wanted in connection with a criminal case, according to the database of wanted persons.

On August 16, 2021, the Preobrazhensky District Court of Moscow sentenced Yarmysh to 18 months of restrictions on counts of inciting a breach of sanitary and epidemiological regulations during an unauthorized demonstration in Moscow on January 23. She was banned from leaving her place of residence, crossing the boundaries of the Moscow region and taking part in mass events.

It became known in late August that Yarmysh had left Russia.

Unsanctioned demonstrations in support of Alexei Navalny, who was arrested upon his return to Russia, were held in many Russian cities, including Moscow, on January 23, 2021.

A number of criminal cases were opened afterwards, including on counts of a breach of sanitary and epidemiological rules, violence against police officers, and hooliganism.
