BlaBlaCar suspends financing for Russian subsidiary, but it will continue operations

MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - BlaBlaCar will suspend financing for its Russian subsidiary due to the geopolitical situation, but the subsidiary will continue to operate in Russia under the independent management of its Russian team, the carpooling service said in a statement.

"Due to the current situation, BlaBlaCar, recognizing its responsibility to its more than 100 employees in Russia, as well to the community of users and partners, has decided to continue working on the local market under the independent management of BlaBlaCar's Russian team," the company said.

"Investment and financing of the subsidiary on the part of headquarters will be suspended. The company's headquarters will not participate in the work of BlaBlaCar's Russian office, which will continue operations as an autonomous entity," the company said.
