U.S. sanctions against Russia may last for long - Peskov

MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - The U.S. sanctions against Russia may last for a long time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, declining to comment on media reports which said that U.S. President Joe Biden would call for severing normal trade with Russia on Friday.

"As we more or less know our counterparts, we can imagine that their sanction aspirations may last for a long time. In fact, they have been doing so for decades and continued to do so during the special operation in Ukraine and without it," Peskov said at a press briefing.

"As to a possible announcement of President Biden, let us comment and formulate our stance one thing at a time. Let us wait for statements to be made before we comment," he said.
