Ukrzaliznytsia evacuates over 2 mln people over past 2 weeks

KYIV. March 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The Ukrainian national railway company Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways, or UZ) has evacuated over two million people over the past 15 days, including some 226,000 people out of the country, UZ said on its Telegram channel on Friday.

"The largest number of passengers were evacuated from Kyiv and Kharkiv. The most popular international railway route is to Poland," it said.

While UZ is continuing the evacuation of civilians, it is also developing a plan of returning people home after the hostilities are over, it said.
