Mercenaries who came to Ukraine from U.S., Britain, and elsewhere in Europe ramp up attacks on Russian medics - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - Mercenaries from the United Kingdom and the United States are increasingly attacking Russian military medics who are accomplishing humanitarian missions in Ukrainian territory, Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Thursday.

"Attacks on Russian medics and special medical vehicles by the Ukrainian nationalists and mercenaries that came earlier from the U.S., Britain and Europe to Ukraine have become more frequent over the past few days," Konashenkov said.

"The Nazis are intentionally attacking from ambushes medical transports carrying the symbol of Red Cross," he said.

"Snipers are conducting fire from long distances, targeting medics evacuating injured Russian servicemen in battle areas. Even medics providing aid to local residents in populated localities. All of this once again confirms the Nazi essence of the Kyiv regime, which in violation of the international humanitarian law has publically called for killing any Russians without exception," he said.

"We warn once again, the best thing that foreign mercenaries detained in battle areas are facing is criminal liability," Konashenkov said.
