Western Union suspending operations in Russia, Belarus

MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - Western Union is suspending operations in Russia and Belarus due to the Ukraine situation, the company said in a press release.

"We have thoroughly evaluated internal and external considerations, including the consequences for our valued teammates, partners, and customers," it said.

Western Union stopped sending money transfers on its Russian-language website and in the mobile app at the end of February, leaving the service available only at service points.
