Moscow City Court releases Turkish citizen arrested for participating in unauthorized rally in Moscow

MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - The Moscow City Court has terminated an administrative case against Turkish citizen Yunus Tutar Emre, who was arrested for 15 days for participating in an unauthorized rally in Moscow.

"Moscow's Tushinsky District Court ruling of March 7, 2022 was overturned, and the proceedings in the administrative case were terminated. The court released Yunus Tutar Emre from custody," lawyer Vladimir Nemanov told Interfax on Thursday.

As reported, on March 7, Moscow's Tushinsky District Court sentenced Turkish citizen Emre to 15 days of administrative arrest for taking part in an unauthorized rally that resulted in the obstruction of traffic in the capital. The man was detained at Manezhnaya Square in Moscow during an unauthorized rally related to the situation in Ukraine on March 6.

About 2,500 protesters took part in an unauthorized rally, of whom 1,700 were detained, according to official data of the Interior Ministry.
