Putin congratulates president of S. Korea on election to this post

MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a congratulatory telegram to Yoon Suk-yeol on the occasion of his election to the post of president of South Korea, expressing hopes for further development of bilateral relations.

Russia and South Korea "have accumulated considerable experience in constructive cooperation in various spheres and interaction finding the solutions to vital international issues," the telegram said.

"I hope that your work as head of state will promote further development of bilateral relations - for the good of our people, in the interests of strengthening security and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia in general," according to the telegram, which was published on the Kremlin site.

The Russian president wished Yoon Suk-yeol success, good health and wellbeing.

South Korea was included by the Russian government in the list of unfriendly countries this week
