Zelensky asks Scholz about prospects of Ukraine's EU membership in run-up to EU summit

KYIV. March 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he discussed support for his country's defense capability with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

"Discussed the course of peace talks with Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Stressed the importance of increasing defense support for Ukraine and sanctions pressure on Russia. Raised the issue of Ukraine's membership in the EU on the eve of the informal summit of EU leaders," Zelensky wrote on Twitter on Thursday.
