Pashinyan says tensions persist in Karabakh

YEREVAN. March 10 (Interfax) - Tensions persist in the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

"There are tensions in Artsakh [the Armenian name for Nagorno-Karabakh], which is proven by the damage done to the gas pipeline from Armenia to Artsakh. I would make no comment for now, as we are working together with the Artsakh authorities and our international partners to stabilize and resolve the situation," Pashinyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.

He said one should abstain from comment and focus on the resolution of problems.

The press service of the unrecognized NKR's Defense Ministry said earlier that Azerbaijani forces fired small arms and mortars at areas adjacent to several villages on March 9 and in the early hours of Thursday.
