Russia registers 51,231 new cases of Covid-19, 9,401 hospitalizations in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 51,231 new cases of Covid-19, down 7,444 from the previous day, as well as 9,401 hospitalizations and 665 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Thursday.

"As of March 10, Russia has reported 51,231 new cases of Covid-19, while 9,401 patients have been hospitalized, up 207.8% from the day before," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 76 regions, decreased in seven, and remained unchanged in two, it said, adding that 3,054 patients were hospitalized in the previous day.

Another 665 patients died from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, compared to 645 the day before.

The daily morbidity declined by 7,444 cases from 58,675 reported on Wednesday. The morbidity curve has been on decline for eight consecutive days.

"Meanwhile, 148,634 patients have recovered over the past day, up 60.3% from March 9," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in Russia, it has registered a total of 17,191,300 cases of Covid-19, including 358,911 deaths and 15,043,717 recoveries.

The Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) said on Thursday that Russia has performed more than 279.6 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 159,000 over the past day. As many as 4,018 people remain under medical observation.
