Some 250 people evacuated from Izyum in Ukraine's Kharkiv region - city deputy mayor

KHARKIV. March 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Around 250 people were evacuated from Izyum in Ukraine's Kharkiv region on Wednesday, March 9, the city's Deputy Mayor Volodymyr Matsokin said.

"Some 250 residents of Izyum were evacuated," Matsokin said on Facebook.

"Those evacuated have already reached Sloviansk," he said.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk said earlier in the day that routes for the evacuation of civilians from a number of populated localities, including from Izyum to Lozova, had been coordinated with Russia, and there was an agreement for a cease fire between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
