Nord Stream 2 ready for use, situation on global energy markets turbulent - Peskov
MOSCOW. March 9 (Interfax) - The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is ready for use, and the situation on global energy markets is turbulent, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday, in commenting on United States Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland's remark that Nord Stream 2 is "dead" and will never be revived.
"What is illustrative here is that it's a senior American diplomat who is saying this," Peskov said.
Nuland said recently about Nord Stream 2, "I think Nord Stream two is now dead. It is a hunk of metal at the bottom of the sea, I don't think it will ever be revived"
Peskov said in comments on Wednesday, "Certainly, this is metal, but it's ready for use, we see that the situation on energy markets is developing quite turbulently, and we don't know what level of turbulence we might reach."
