DPR, Russian forces on offensive in Krasna Polyana area - DPR militia spokesman

DONETSK. March 9 (Interfax) - The forces of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and Russia are on the offensive in the Krasna Polyana area, DPR militia spokesman Eduard Basurin said.

"As the Zachativka train station has been taken under control, units of the Russian Armed Forces and the DPR are on the offensive towards Krasna Polyana," Basurin told reporters on Wednesday.

The operation aimed at liberating Mariupol is continuing, and the suburbs are being cleared of mines, he said.

"Servicemen of DPR engineering units are clearing the Mariupol suburbs of explosive devices. Our soldiers have defused over 1,800 explosive devices so far," Basurin said.
