Russian Aerospace Forces destroy 158 Ukrainian military facilities over past 24 hours - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. March 8 (Interfax) - The bomber and attack aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed 158 military facilities on the territory of Ukraine over the past 24 hours, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov told a briefing on Tuesday.

"The Ukrainian air base Ozerne in the Zhytomyr area was disabled on March 7 with long-range high-precision weapons. The Russian Aerospace Forces' fighter jets shot down in midair two MiG-29 aircraft and one Sukhoi Su-27 plane of the Ukrainian Air Force," Konashenkov said.

Two Ukrainian divisions of S-300 surface-to-air missile systems, three self-propelled firing units Buk M-1, four command points, two radar stations, nine munitions warehouses, and 11 areas of concentration of weapons and military hardware were also disabled, he said.

"A total of 2,482 Ukrainian military infrastructure facilities were destroyed during the operation," Konashenkov said.

Among them are 87 command points and signal stations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 124 S-300, Buk M-1 and Osa surface-to-air missile systems, and 79 radar stations. Eight hundred sixty-six tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 91 multiple rocker launch systems, 317 field branch artillery weapons and mortars, 634 pieces of special military motor equipment, and 81 drones have been destroyed, Konashenkov said.
